Realization of a Next Project Implemented at the Expense of Financing by Japanese Government

The realization of a next project implemented at the expense of the financing by the Japanese Government has been completed. Trend has been informed by the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan, that the opening ceremony of Hostel #15, repaired at the expense of a grant given by the Japanese Government jointly with the Norwegian Refugees Council is expected to be held on February 15, 2007. It has become possible due the Japanese Programme - Grass Roots and Human Safety, which has been implemented in Azerbaijan since 2000.

425 refugees live in the hostile. The cost of the project was $92,757. Program Grass Roots and Human Safety has been implemented in Azerbaijan since 2000. 85 projects with the budget of over $5 mln. have been implemented within the programme. The projects have been intended for the development of social spheres of the country, particularly education, health care and protection, infrastructure. Since the time when Azerbaijan gained its independence and up to date, the Japanese Government has rendered its aid to the sum of over $700 mln.
