The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, Elkhan Huseynov, informed Trend that the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Artur Rasizade, met with the newly elected President of Turkmenistan, Gurbangulu Berdimuhammadov, on February 14, 2007 in Ashgabat. The meeting took place within the participation of the Azerbaijan Prime Minister on the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected President of Turkmenistan. The meeting was held face-to-face. The sides discussed the prospects of the co-operation.
Rasizade met with the heads of the governmental delegations of other countries, who participated in the inauguration ceremony, especially with the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Fradkov, Prime Minister of Turkey, Rajab Teyyub Erdogan, President of Tajikistan, Imomali Rahmanov. The Azerbaijan delegation returned to Baku on February 14, 2007.
