Deputy Foreign Minister Leads Kazakh Delegation at Tehran Meeting on Caspian Legal Status

Ilyas Omarov, Spokesman for the Kazakhstani Foreign Ministry informed a Trend Correspondent in Astana that Deputy Foreign Minister, Rapil Kolibayev will most probably lead the Kazakhstani delegation at a meeting of experts in Tehran on the Caspian legal status.

Nevertheless, a final decision is still to be made, he added.

A meeting in Tehran of a special working group on the definition of the Caspian legal status is scheduled for February 27th & 28th. Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be represented by their Deputy Foreign Ministers. The gathering is expected to co-ordinate the final text of a unified statement on Caspian legal status, which will be signed at the forthcoming Caspian Summit of Head of States.
