Ibrahimkhalilova/ As a result of the measures taken by the Azerbaijan National Security Ministry, the police managed to detain Ilyas Nuraddin Oghlu, born in 1968 in Gedabay District of Azerbaijan, who was wanted by the Police Department of Sabayil District of Baku City in accordance to Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic (appropriation of official authorities).
The investigation showed that the accused, from Year 1999, claimed he was a representative of the State Student's Admission Committee, National Security, and employee of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration and deceived citizens by appropriating money from them by pledging to render his assistance in their admission to institutes of high education, as well as appointing them to higher posts. Furthermore he presented them with false documents and papers.
On the above-mentioned facts, and in accordance with the legislation of the Country, the Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case on Article 178.2.4 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic. The National Security Ministry suspects that the accused has most likely committed other crimes.
The National Security Ministry warns citizens that they must ask for identification from any officer representing himself as one of the National Security Ministry.
