Azerbaijan Signs Agreement with   Taiwan on Direct Oil Deliveries

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend K.Konirova, S.Aliyev / In Taiwan, Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), has signed a long-term contract for direct delivery of its oil from the Turkish port of Ceyhan, Trend Correspondent in Astana reports.

Azerbaijani oil is delivered to Ceyhan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

Azerbaijani profit oil produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea and transported via BTC will be delivered to the Taiwan's Oil Refinery Plant.

"We will sell oil to Taiwan directly from Ceyhan without a tender," Abdullayev said.

SOCAR sells its oil from the ports of Ceyhan, Novorossiysk and Batumi through tender announcements which can be maintained with respect to maintain maximal price for oil, while long-term contracts will be adjusted to this price, as the tender cost is the highest in the world.

At the present time an issue on the establishment of private trader of SOCAR for sale of oil is under consideration.
