Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. K. Zarbaliyeva/ An organized gang occupied with drug trafficing via the route - Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia, has been neutrilized as a result of operative and serach measures taken by the Azerbaijan National Secutity Minitsry. The message being spread by the Centre for Public Relations of the National Security Ministry says that 60 kg 287,7 grams of hashish were seized from members of the gang. Recisendts of Jalilabad District of Azerbaijan, Mirkhalig Vazirov, his son Elnur Vazirov, Asif Gurbatov, Polad Aliyev called "Yashilkhan" ("Green Khan") and two Iranian citizens, Mammad and Shahzad, whose personalities are currently identified by the investigation, as well as several other persons were engaged in trafficing of a significant quantity of drug and drug substances from Iran to Azerbaijan with the aim to sale. It became evident that in January, 2007, Mammad and Mirkhalig Vazirovs agreed on delivery a great quantity of drugs for sale in the Azerbaijan Town of Jalilabad. According to their agreement, Mr. Vazirov took obligations to receive the drugs, storage them in his nouse, and then hand over them to Asif Gourbatov. The latter must have delivered the drugs to Russia for sale. In order ro commit this crime, Mr. Vazirov involved his son Elnur.
By the order made by Mammad, Shahzad agreed with his familiar, Polad Aghayev to render aid to him in selling drug substances to be delivered from Iran. Not far from the Village of Jafarli of Jalilabad District, Mr. Aghayev received the hashish at a weight of 60 kg 287,7 grams from Shahzad. On February 25, during the examination of the house in the Village of Uzuntapa, which belongs to Mr. Aghayev, officers of the National Security Ministry revealed and seized 60 kg 287,7 grams of hashish. A criminal case on Articles 206.3.2 (drug trafficking by a group of persons previously came to collusion), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal acquiring, storage, delivery, trafficking, and sale of a significant quantity of drug substances by a group of persons previously came to collusion) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic on the above-mentioned fact.
Mirkhalig and Elnur Vazirovs, Polad Aghayev and Asif Gumbatov were brought to the legal proceedings as accused persons. The Court has chosen an arrest as a preventive punishment toward the above-listed persons.
