Issue on Georgia’s Returning Ancient Gates to Azerbaijan May Be Solved by Azerbaijani and Georgian Religious Leaders

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Aghayeva/ Zurab Gumberidze, Georgia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has said today that the issue on giving the Ganja Ancient Gates should be solved between the religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

According to him, the above-mentioned historical value is in the ownership of the Georgian Orthodox Church, and the issue on returning it to Azerbaijan might be solved by an appeal to be made by Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the Head of the All-Caucasian Muslims.

Notably, that the Ganja Ancient Gates were moved to Georgia as far back in 11 century.
