Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr A.Gasimova / President Valdas Adamkus received the Ilyas Efendiyev international award for his support of Azerbaijani aspirations abroad.
The Lithuanian president is among the first award winners of the Ilyas Efendiyev Foundation which honors Azerbaijani and foreign nationals for promoting Azerbaijani aspirations and culture.
At a recent Baku Congress of the Turkic Diaspora, Ambassador Halina Kobeckaite, Adviser to the President of Lithuania, was presented with the international Qobustan award for promoting the Turkic culture across the world. Ambassador Kobeckaitл has translated many works by Turkic-language authors into Lithuanian.
