Trend I.Alizade / "The Former Health Minister of Azerbaijan and also former member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), Ali Insanov, cannot be considered a political prisoner," said the Deputy Executive Secretary of NAP, Siyavush Novruzov, commenting on the fact that several legal observers consider Ali Insanov as a political prisoner.
"Ali Hasanov has had no political views. He is accused of bribery, corruption and other such crimes. No-one can call him a political prisoner," Novruzov said.
The New Azerbaijan Party was created in 1992 in Nakchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan by the ex-President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. Currently, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, is the Chairman of the Party.
