CIS Council of Foriegn Ministers to Discuss 19 Issues

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend S.Agayeva / The next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is planned to take place on 25 April in Astana City.

According to the information provided by the CIS Executive Committee, the agenda of the meeting includes 19 issues, 5 of which the Council of Foreign Ministers will make final decisions. The Council of Foreign Ministers will discuss the activities of the CIS Council for Cultural Co-operation and Inter-State Council for Emergency Situations and make decisions on their reports. In addition, the members will consider the realization of the 2006 Plan of Multi-level Consultations between CIS Foreign Ministries and 2007 Plan of Consultations.

The meeting will focus on the documents relating to the activities of the Collective Forces for the Support of Peace in conflict zones in Abkhazia, Georgia. The documents concerning the interaction of the border and other CIS participating countries, as well as introducing uniform badges "Honorable CIS frontier guard" of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops, will be submitted for the consideration of the CIS State Heads after being agreed by the Foreign Ministers.

The issue of staff training, educational co-operation, joint film-making, creation of the CIS Council of Heads of State and Public TV and Radio Organizations are planned to be presented for the consideration of the CIS Government Heads once they are approved by the Foreign Ministers.
