Azerbaijan, Baku / Т corr I. Alizadeh / MP Rabiyyat Aslanova, the Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights of the Milli Mejlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), informed that the NGOs need in financing the Government.
Aslanova noted that there are NGOs with definite intellectual and organizing skills in the country. However, the financial shortages unable them to implement the social programs that are important for society. Thus, financing of the NGOs by the Government is necessary," Aslanova added. She also voiced her beliefs in Government's opportunities in this respect.
A large group of entrepreneurs has appeared in Azerbaijan. The organization established with the financial assistance of the entrepreneurs and the Government could assist the NGOs in the implementation of social programs.
"The financial assistance can be rendered to the NGOs which will use it expediently. The NGOs should be popular in the society. Their number can increase and reach 4,000-5,000, while at present time the figure is 2000," Aslanova noted.
Aslanova considers that in many countries the NGOs are financed by the Government. Different world funds control over the activities and reliability of the NGOs and render them financial assistance.
