Trend S.Agayeva / The meeting between the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Canada, Faxraddin Gurbanov and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for International Trade of the Chamber of Representatives of Canada, Leon Benoit, stated that in the near future, the experts of Azerbaijan and Canada will begin negotiations for signing Agreement on support and mutual protection of the investments of the two countries.
The Ambassador spoke of the present situation of the relations between Azerbaijan and Canada, development processes and reforms in Azerbaijan, in particular of the favorable investment conditions and economic projects. The Ambassador said that Azerbaijan is a leader country in the work for the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP). It was stated at the meeting that Azerbaijan is the initiator and key participant of the energy and projects and opening the Embassy of Canada in Azerbaijan will support the business people of Canada to invest in Azerbaijan. The Ambassador invited Benoit to join the Canadian-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendly Group created at the Parliament of Canada. The invitation was accepted.
