Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, will pay an official visit to Jordan in the near future. It is in response to the official visit of the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, to Azerbaijan in August 2006.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Jordan, Elman Arasly, said that preparations for the visit will be discussed by the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, during his upcoming 8-11 April official visit to Jordan. According to him, the program for his visit has been prepared. Mammadyarov is expected to meet with Jordan's Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister and the Mayor of Amman. The meetings will cover the prospects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Jordan. As a result, a Memorandum of Cooperation is expected to be signed between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, the Ambassador stated.
From Jordan, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan will leave for Syria and Lebanon.
