Russian Federal Migration Service Reports Authority to Conduct Raids and Spot-Checks on Bazaars

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. E. Husseynov / Denis Soldatikov, the Deputy Chief of the Public Relations Department of the Russian Federal Migration Service, has reported that the Russian Service has not carried out any raids or spot-checks as yet on bazaars and markets in the country, as a result of the Presidential Order on the prohibition to employ citizens of foreign states within the bazaars and food markets of the country, commencing on April 1, 2007.

According to him, no commissions concerning spot-checks and special raids on bazaars and food markets in the country have been received by the Service as yet. "We are working to our normal schedule. However, if we do hold such checks, which we conduct regularly, and we will expose cases of breaking the Government Regulations, we shall take immediate measures in accordance the existing administrative legislation," said the Representative of the State Service. He added that "the Federal Migration Service is neither following nor searching anyone today".

Mr. Soldatikov noted that the Federal Migration Service do not have any data as yet as to whether there had been Azerbaijani citizens among those who had broken the Government Regulations since it was put into operation (the beginning of 2007).

Statistics on infringements are prepared twice a year.
