Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, informed Trend on 9 April that an Israeli-Azerbaijani Friendship Association will be created on 12 April in Jerusalem. Ibrahimov, who is on a visit to Israel, said that a new diaspora organization of Azerbaijan will be created in Israel. The principal aim of the association will focus on the joint activities of European-Azerbaijani diasporas and the expansion of Israeli-Azerbaijani relations through diasporas. The Association will bring together Azerbaijanis residing in Israel, as well as Jews going to Israel from Azerbaijan.

Currently nearly 100.000 Azerbaijanis (Jews, Russians and representatives of other nations from Azerbaijan) live in Israel. These people will try to achieve close cooperation, propagate Azerbaijan's interests and establish joint activities of European-Azerbaijani diasporas in the world.

During the visit, the delegation of the State Commission headed by Ibrahimov will meet with representatives of Azerbaijani diasporas.
