Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / "We will raise the question of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)," said MP Ganira Pashayeva, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE. She said that the session intends to focus on several issues, including the obligations of Azerbaijan before the Council of Europe and liabilities regarding Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "One day of the session will be dedicated to the situation of democracy and human rights in Europe. We will raise the question that up to now, Armenia has not implemented four resolutions of the UN Security Council and resolution No 1416 of PACE, as well as its obligations undertaken before the Council of Europe and has being keeping Azerbaijani lands under occupation," she said.

Pashayeva said that during discussions on the situation of human rights, a question will be raised on the violation of the rights of more than one million refugees and internally displaced persons of Azerbaijan for a period of more than 15 years. She considers the instance of the Armenian occupation which has led to the violation of rights of more than one million Azeri people is an obvious example of violation of human rights in Europe. "European organizations should take measures to restore the rights of these people and ensure the implementation of the PACE resolution on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," she stressed.

The PACE session will begin on 16 April in Strasburg. Azerbaijan will be represented at the session by a delegation including Samad Seyidov, Gultakin Hajiyeva, Sabir Hajiyev, Ganira Pashayeva, Ali Huseynov and Rafael Huseynov. The session will conclude on 20 April.
