PACE Co-Rapporteur Says Positive Changes Outlined in Azerbaijan
France, Strasburg/ Trend , corr E. Madjidli/ Tony Lloyd, the Co-Rapporteur of PACE (parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe) for Azerbaijan has marked the positive changes happening in Azerbaijan.
Emphasizing his efforts and strains to keep on the objectivity in the preparatotion for a report to be made jointly with another PACE Co-Rapporteur for Azerbaijan, Andreas Herkel, Mr. Lloyd particularly marked the metings they held with the Azerbaijni Government , opposition, and representatives of local NGOs during preparing this report.
Having marked the fact of the availability of troubles in the sphere of development of democracy and human rights in some European countries, the PACE Co-Rapporteur noted that such shortcomings were available in Azervbaijan as well.
Being quite satisfied with Azerbaiojan's ataching a great importance to cooperation with the Council of Europe as a whole, he expressed his satisfaction with the constructiviness of approaches, the Azerbaijani Parliamentary Delegation to PACE takes and applies in the Assembly.
