Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend E.Huseynov / "Relations between Azerbaijan and Korea are at a new stage," said the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who is on an official visit to Korea, in his interview with South Korean newspaper Joong Ang Libo. "This visit is a continuation of the intensive dialogue which began after a visit of the Korean President to Azerbaijan," the State Head of Azerbaijan said, adding that the agenda of the 3-day visit is very broad.

Touching upon the visit of the Korean President, Roh Mu Hun, to Azerbaijan in May 2006, Aliyev said that at that time, the sides discussed bilateral relations and economic cooperation and various aspects of economic development. "As you know, the Embassy of Azerbaijan opened in Korea. It arises from an interest in close cooperation with Korea. The agenda of the visit is broad," said the President of Azerbaijan.

"We want to cooperate with experienced and professional companies that are interested in working in Azerbaijan. There are many foreign companies which meet the criteria. I hope that the visit will be successful," Aliyev underlined. According to the President, a joint business-forum will take place in South Korea, attended by Azerbaijani business people. "I consider that the results will be positive," Aliyev spelt out.
