Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported on 23 April that over 4,114 crime cases were registered in Azerbaijan in March-April, 2007, with 3,991 cases of them being registered by Interior Affairs.
Some 1,556 cases are petty crimes, 2,057 cases are semi-serious, and 378 cases are serious crimes.
Some l,312 cases are personal crimes, 1,525 cases are breach of public order and security, 985 cases were registered in economic field, and 169 are considered to be state crimes. Some 20% of the crimes are connected with drugs, 12.8% are larceny, and 7.7% of the cases are traffic accidents.
