Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Deputy Interior Minister of Azerbaijan, General-Lieutenant, Vilayat Eyvazov, said on 26 April that they are counting on police support to track down the offenders.
The Deputy Minister disagreed with the opinions that the members of the criminal gang who was headed by the former senior official of the Head Investigation Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry, Haji Mammadov, who was sentenced to life-imprisonment, are free and being protected by several police employees.
"Relevant measures are being taken by the police to capture the offenders. The police have always adhered to the principles of fighting against criminality. The opinions that several police employees are protecting the offenders are incorrect," Eyvazov said.
