OIC Secretary General Says OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Will Pass a Resolution Condemning Armenia’s Occupying Azerbaijani Lands

Azerbaijan, Baku/ corr. S.Agayeva / The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, said in Baku that the next meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers will pass a Resolution condemning Armenia's occupying Azerbaijani lands. According to him, the program of the meeting also includes issues of seeking the ways of resolving the conflicts existing in the OIC Muslim member-countries.

The Secretary General said that appeals will be made to the international organizations, Head of the leading countries around the world with regards to the prompt settlement of these conflicts. In addition, the Council will discuss the situation in Palestine, Somali and other Muslim countries, including the situation around the nuclear program of Iran. Azerbaijan will transfer the power to chair the meeting of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers to Pakistan.

Ihsanoglu arrived in Azerbaijan to attend the international conference on the topic 'Role of media in developing tolerance and mutual understanding'.

The conference completed on 27 April. Ihsanoglu voiced his hope that such events will take place traditionally. According to him, such conferences assume a great importance for the Muslim countries from the point of view of selected topics.
