Monument to Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi to be Unveiled by Presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi / corr Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / The assembly of a monument to ex-Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev has been set up in Tbilisi.

The City Building Service of Tbilisi, Koba Subeliani, reported that the monument was erected in Heydar Aliyev Square in the old part of Tbilisi - Abanotubani.

The monument was built and transported to Georgia by Azerbaijan. The Heydar Aliyev square in Tbilisi will be upgraded at the expense of the Tbilisi city budget.

According to Subeliani, the monument will be unveiled on 12 May in the presence of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Georgia, Ilham Aliyev and Mikhael Saakashvili. According to initial reports, both leaders will visit Tbilisi from Krakow, where they intend to participate in an energy summit.
