Changing Date of Congress of World Azerbaijanis’ Congress Will not Present Serious Problems This Time: Chairman of CWA Assembly

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of Assembly of the Congress of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis (CWA), Sabir Rustamkhanly, said that changing the date and place of the ninth Congress of the CWA does not present serious problems within the organization. A decision was made to postpone the congress scheduled to take place on 28 May in Turkey to 14-15 July in Kelin ( Germany). Postponing the date of the congress which had been scheduled for the end of last year and thereafter, changing the date again caused dissatisfaction within CWA.

Rustamkhanly said that this time postponing the date will not present serious differences because currently Turkey is preparing for the presidential elections and the social-political situation in the country is tense. "The Apparat of the Chairman is engaged in this issue and if they decided so, I consider that no serious problems will come into existence. Conducting the Congress in a European country is very important," Rustamkhanly added.

According to him, the agenda of the meeting includes discussing the situation in South Azerbaijan, and making an appeal to international organizations with regards to human rights violations in South Azerbaijan. In addition, amendments will be made to the Regulation of CWA and Apparat of Chairman will be formed.

CWA was created in 1997 in the USA. The organization fights for the rights of Azerbaijanis residing in Iran and the independency of South Azerbaijan.
