Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Awarded for Contributions in Promotion of OIC’s International Value

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Aghayeva / The prospect of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Nigeria, Tunisia, Iran, Croatia, Pakistan, and Cuba were discussed in Islamabad on 16 May during a meeting that included the foreign ministers of the aforementioned countries, as well as Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, according to his spokesman, Khazar Ibrahim. The meetings were held within the framework of the 34th session of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Pakistan, 15-16 May.

The expansion of the relationships shared between Azerbaijan with the attending countries was discussed at the gathering, Ibrahim said. The ministers viewed international and regional cooperation. The details of the meetings are not publicized.

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister was awarded by the OIC Youth Forum for contributions into the promotion of the OIC's international value and activities intended to raise youths' roles in the OIC countries. During the meeting, Azerbaijan passed its OIC chairmanship to Pakistan. Mr. Mammadyarov held the office of the OIC chairman for the past year.
