Governing Structure of Azerbaijani Democratic Party Formed

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Sardar Jalaloglu, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA), reported that during the Supreme Assembly of the DPA, held on 16 June, the governing structures of the party were formed.

It was the first Assembly of the party after the 9th convention. During the Assembly the deputy chairman of the party was appointed and the chairman and deputies of the Supreme Assembly were elected.

Hasrat Rustamov was appointed first deputy of the DPA, Taliyat Aliyev the deputy on election issues, Zakir Huseinov the deputy of general issues and Nuraddin Ismailov the deputy of communication with community and media.

Vagif Shirinov was elected chairman of the Supreme Assembly, Isa Jafarov the deputy chairman of the Supreme Assembly and Natig Abbasov the secretary of the Supreme Assembly of the DPA.

Ten Commissions of the DPA were formed during the meeting. The formation of the DPA on the Armenian- Azerbaijani Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh was ratified.

The DPA was founded by Sardar Jalaloglu in 1991. The party took a new political course of dialogue towards the Government on January 2007.
