Georgian President Arrives in Baku to Attend GUAM Summit

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva /The President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvily, arrived in Baku to attend the summit of GUAM State Heads scheduled for 19 June.

The Georgian delegation includes Foreign Minister, Gela Bajuashvily, Minister of Energy, Nikoloz Giluary, Minister of Education and Science, Alexander Lomaya, Minister of Culture, Protection of Monuments and Sport, Giorgie Gabashvily, Head of Border Police, Badry Bitsadze and other senior officials.

According to information obtained from the Presidential Administration of Georgia on 18 June, Mikhail Saakashvily plans to meet with the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Poland, Lekh Kachinsky, Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus. In addition, this will take place in the format of GUAM - Poland.

The plenary meeting of the GUAM State Heads will commence on the morning of 19 June, after which there are plans to sign a declaration. Upon the completion of the summit, a press-conference will take place.
