The meeting of the State and Government Heads of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation member-countries is taking place in Istanbul.
The Turkish media sources report, that presently a meeting is taking place between the Presidents of Turkey, Ahmed Nejdet Sezer, and Russia, Vladimir Putin. Later the Russian President will meet with the Turkish Prime Minister, Rejeb Teyyub Erdogan.
The State Heads are discussing energy issues.
On the 25th of June, a reception was held for the summit participants on behalf of the Turkish Prime Minister. Erdogan stated that the political conflicts present serious obstacles for the effective economic co-operation in the region. Thus, the countries should jointly make efforts to regulate the problems which exist in the region.
