Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Gudrat Hasanguliyev , the Chairman represented in the 'Union of National Democratic Forces' bloc of the Popular Front of Union Azerbaijan Party (PFUAP), has stated that the bloc will expand its membership.
Presently, alongside with the PFUAP, the Tekamul Party (Evolution) is represented in the bloc.
According to Hasanguliyev , the negotiations to expand the composition of the bloc are being held with four or five opposition parties.
The initiative to expand the political bloc is primarily related to the forthcoming Presidential elections in 2008. Thus, this political organization will become the election bloc.
In 2001 the members of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP) under the leadership of Gudrat Hasanguliyev , separated from the APFP and held its own 'joining' meeting. Functioning as a 'joining' branch of the APFP by 2004, it became the Popular Front of Union Azerbaijan Party.
PFUAP received registration in 2005.
Hasanguliyev , the chairman of the party, is the MP of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
