PACE MPs Sign Document on Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Function

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizadeh / The document 'role of non-governmental organizations in developing of dialogue among civilizations/the Heydar Aliyev Foundation/', developed by Ganira Pashayeva, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), was signed by more than 60 MPs of Europe.

The document stated that the development of dialogue among civilizations and cultures is a key issue for Europe, as well as for all countries.

Such issues as inter religious tolerance and the role of non-governmental organizations in these processes have a great importance in dialogue.

" Azerbaijan, being a Muslim country and possessing national values, historically was well-known for its ethnic and religious varieties and traditional tolerance. We, signing this document, especially underline the functioning and experience of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation as the biggest and authoritative non-governmental organization in the developing of inter-religious and intercultural dialogues," stated the statement.

The document was signed by Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Russia, Moldova and other countries.
