If the USA Accepts Russia’s Proposals on Missile Defence System, Russia May Cease Placing Missiles in Kaliningrad Region: Vice-Prime Minister

The First Vice-Prime Minister of Russia, Sergei Ivanov, said that if the United States accepts Russia's proposals on missile defence system, Russia may cease placing missiles in Kaliningrad region, ITAR TASS reports.

"If Russia's proposals are accepted, Russia will not need to place new missiles in the European part of the Country, including Kaliningrad region, to counteract the threats that may appear as a result of placement of missile defence systems in Poland and the Czech Republic," Ivanov said.

"Positive response of the USA will avoid the issue of obvious react, but we should react and think of our security," he said.
