President of Azerbaijan Congratulates Russian Counterpart on Sochi’s Success in 2014 Winter Olympics Bid

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova / The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, on Sochi winning the right to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

In his message, Ilham Aliyev said that with the International Olympic Committee's decision, "the hopes of millions of the Russian people were realized", Press Service of Azerbaijan President reports. The Azerbaijani leader expressed his confidence the Sochi Olympics would go down in history as one of the most memorable for its excellent organization, magnificence and scale. Ilham Aliyev wished the Russian Olympic athletes the greatest success.
