Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / A round-table dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijani National Independent Party (ANIP) was held in Baku on 17 July.
ANIP was founded in 1992 and was the first party officially registered in Azerbaijan. The role of the party, as well as the role of Etibar Mammadov, the head of the party, in the National-liberation movement is establishment of an independent government and the establishment of a multi-party system in the country and was the main issues of the round-table.
MP Ali Masimli noted that ANIP managed to gather around the party intellectuals. According to Masimli, the party has foreign relations.
MP Vahida Ahmadova stated the party is one of four or five successful parties functioning in Azerbaijan.
MP Ilyas Ismaylov, the chairman of the Adalat Party considers that ANIP should analyze its functioning.
Fazil Gazanfaroglu, the chairman of the Great Establishment Party, said that ANIP has great prospects.
MP Panah Hyseyn, noted the role of ANIP in the history of parties.
Etibar Mammadov stressed during his speech that the party usually promoted new ideas and programs.
