Erdogan to Nominate 3 candidates to Presidency: Turkish MP

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Ilhamgizi / As soon as the ruling Party of Justice and Development of Turkey gains the majority in the new parliament, Prime Minister Rejeb Tayyib Erdogan will nominate three candidates to the post of President, according to Ahmed Faruk Yunsal, MP from ruling party

He noted that the dominating force (or the ruling party) should nominate the candidates to the presidency. Yunsal assures that the Party of Justice and Development will be victorious during the fathoming relations. In this case the chairman of the Party, Erdogan will name the candidates.

Yunsal also noted that the Prime Minister is considering the candidatures of three authoritative people, one of them is Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, whilst names of others are not unveiled.

MP added that the ruling has many potential leaders. In case if the Party gains 300 seats at the Parliament, Gul's chances to for presidency will reduce.

The oppositional Republican People's Party and the National Movement Party, which are expected to be represented at the Parliament, cannot nominate their candidates to presidency. They are obliged to select one of the nominees by the ruling Party.

The parliamentary elections will be held in Turkey on 22nd of July. The new parliament will elect the President and Prime Minister of Turkey and form the Government.
