Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The Baku City Executive Power did not permit the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) to protest in front of the Cabinet of Ministers on 7 September, the spokesman for ANIP, Ali Orujev, told Trend.
The protest was designed to attract attention to what the party considers to be a wrong price policy by the government. According to Orujev, despite the prohibition of the Executive Power, the activists of the party will not give up.
ANIP, founded in 1992, is the first officially registered party in Azerbaijan. Etibar Mammadov, the founder of the party, was the chairman until the end of 2004. For the time being Mammadov is the Deputy Chairman of the International Democratic Society.
