Opposition to Begin Settling Political Problems in Squares: Opposition Party Leader
Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend E.Huseynli / The Co-chair of Azerbaijani Azadlyg Bloc, Chairman of Citizen and Development, Ali Aliyev, said on 1 October that the opposition will begin settling the political problems from the demonstration squares.
According to him, mass demonstration are planned to be held to attract the attention of the international organizations to the situation in the Country.
"It is high time to activate the population for the upcoming Presidential elections in Azerbaijan," Aliyev said.
After the 2005 parliamentary elections, the opposition can not become released from the deadlock. The rights are dissatisfied with the social-political activity. The leaders themselves testify it. They consider the mass actions as the way out for the deadlock. Aliyev considers that the political activity will cause positive changes and annexes to the Electoral Code and Law on Freedom of Assembly.
Azadlyg bloc brings together three opposition parties, Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, Azerbaijan Liberal Party and Citizen and Development Party. The bloc has announced that if the political situation does not change in the Country and the election commissions are not formed on a parity base, they will boycott the upcoming Presidential elections.
