Safarov / The head of the State Committee on Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, was officially elected the president of the Azerbaijan Fencing Federation during the conference held at the headquarters of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee.
Ibrahimov stressed he would do his best to revive glory of Azerbaijani fencers. The fencers will try to gain a license to the Olympic Games, he said.
"I know that it will not be easy to win the licenses, but we still have a hope," he said.
According to Ibrahimov, he intends to improve popularity of this sport in Azerbaijan and to improve its material and technical basis. "The first steps in this connection have been already made. We purchased new equipment for the sportsmen ad it will be delivered to Azerbaijan in near future. The office of the Fencing Federation also is underway," Ibrahimov stressed.
