Azerros Newspaper Announced Winner of Russian Journalists Competition

R.Agayev / The Azerros newspaper of the Azerros media holding announced the winner of the Russian competition of journalists for best article dedicated to problems of displaced persons. The newspaper became the best one in nomination of the 'Force of public's word'. The ceremony of granting diplomas and presents to Valeria Vladimirovna Yermolayeva the editor-in-chief of the newspaper was held in the Central Home of Journalists in Moscow.
"The newspaper pays more attention on daily actual international issues for Russia. Our goal is to play an informative role between Azerbaijan and Russian Azerbaijanis, as well as Azerbaijan and Russian communities. We do our best to inform Russian Azerbaijanis and Russian communities about the historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani population," Yermolayeva said.
Touching upon the topic of the nomination Yermoilayeva said Azerbaijani population remembers the results of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
"There are about 1mln internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan. They were removed from their homes, as well as most of tem lost their parents and relatives. The difficulties they faced should be completely examined. Russia should be informed about the difficulties the internally displaced people underwent. We try to enlighten such issues in our newspaper," Yermolayeva said.
The UN Supreme Commissar's Department on displaced persons issues and Alliance of heads of Russian regional media organized the ceremony. The goal of the event is to draw attention of wide mass of population to such an important problems. About 216 journalists' work have been submitted to the committee from 27 regions of Russia.
