Radical Shiism and Vahabbism’s Ideas Oppose Azerbaijan’s State System – Acting Head of Azerbaijani Committee’s Administration

Azerbaijan, Lankaran / Тrend corr P. Aliyeva / The ideas of radical Shiism and Vahabbism in Azerbaijan oppose the country's State system, Safali Nazarli, the acting head of the administration of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations, told Trend.

According to him, religious organizations in Azerbaijan are controlled. A total of 409 religious communities were registered in the State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations and thirty-one of them are not Islamic.

Some religious communities do not apply for State registration and are not interested in it. All religious communities are freely functioning in Azerbaijan and every citizen has freedom of religion, Nazarli said.

According to Nazarli, religious education should be carried out correctly in the country.
