Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Some AZN 1bln will be allocated to implement supplements included into the State program to improve living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons, Ali Hasanov, the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, said on 1 November.
The Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, issued a decree on supplements in the State program to improve the life of refugees and internally displaced persons and to increase employment' on 31 October 2007. The decree was issued in order to increase the social protection of internally displaced persons, as well as improve their conditions of life and increase of employment.
About 47 settlements were established in different cities and regions of Azerbaijan within the framework of the State program. Some 70,000 refugees and internally displaced persons were placed in the new settlements.
About 19,000 of refugees will be placed in the newly constructed settlements in the near future.
Approximately AZN 700mln have been allocated in order to improve the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons. Some AZN 330mln were allocated by the State Oil Fund and the other part AZN 370mln from State Budget.
