Vice-Speaker of Israeli Parliament to Support Congress of Middle East’s Azerbaijanis

Israel, Jerusalem / Тrend corr R. Mammadov / The Vice-Speaker of Israeli Parliament Amnon Koen intends to support the activities of the Congress of Middle East's Azerbaijanis and is ready to render any kind of assistance to prospective projects of the organization, the Vice-Speaker reported at the meeting with Congress's representatives in Ramle city (middle Israel).

As for the relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, MP Koen stated that the relations are based on a rich heritage and historical mutual respect between the two peoples. "Cooperation and friendship between Azerbaijan and Israel has deep roots. Jews have been residing in Azerbaijan for centuries and enjoyed equal rights with Azerbaijanis. Jews which have been residing in Azerbaijan since the end of the 19th century and the beginning of 20th century have made profound contributions to development of Azerbaijani science, culture, health, economy, industry," Koen stressed.

Alex Shapiro-Suliman informed the attendees of the goals and tasks of the organization and its further projects. "Powerful and mighty Congress of Azerbaijanis seems to be a numerous organization able to propose, vindicated and lobby the interests of cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan," he said.

The Congress is interested in real cooperation with the Vice-Speaker of the Israeli Parliament Amnon Koen and the Congress of Bukhara Jews. Such purposes of the Bukhara Jews' Congress as development and implementation of programs and projects in the field of science, education, culture, health, assistance to solution of social problems, preservation of moral values are also an integral part of the Azerbaijani Congress's mission, the President of the Congress of Middle East's Azerbaijanis said.
