Finnish National Football Team to Play with Azerbaijan without Leading Forward

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend Z.Safarova / The Finnish National Football Team has lost on the eve of the European Championship 2008 qualification games against Azerbaijan, which will be held in Helsinki on 17 November.

The Finnish team cannot rely on Aleksey Eremenko, a forward of Ramen's Saturn club after the attacks on him in Moscow, Trend reports. "His scuff was broken and that's why he will miss three or four weeks," the Finland Football association said.

"Two people came to him and without reason stroke on his face," Eremenko's father said. He will under go slight surgery soon and then have a rest for several weeks.

The Russian man with Finnish passport suffered attacks while being back from a club banquet, dedicated to the completion of the Russian Championship. Eremenko kicked 12 goals at 33 matches within Finland's National team. Fins who did not ever play in the European and the World championships now occupy the fourth place in A group, scoring 20 points at 12 rounds
