Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbliyeva / The head of the Azerbaijani Mutafakkir construction company died in prison's hospital on 19 November because of cardiac failure.
A building which was being constructed by the Mutaffakir company collapsed on 28 August at about 6:00pm. As a result, 24 people died and 5 were injured. The head of the company Ali Muradov was arrested.
Due to his illness Muradov was transmitted from Investigation Office 1 to a medical unit. He was treated but the physicians failed to rescue his life, the Penitentiary Service in the Justice Ministry reported to Trend.
The Director General of the Mutaffakir construction company, Ali Muradov, the company's Engineer General, Askar Aliyev, and Master Builders Farhad Hasanov and Gadir Salimov, were all detained in connection with the incident.
Given Muradov's health condition, his attorney applied to court to change his imprisonment to house arrest. Several days ago the Baku Appeal Court considered but did not allow the appeal.
