Shahin Akhundov was charged with calculated homicide charges. On 18 December, 2005, he shot at the car of Anar Ismayilov. Akhundov left the country and an international search was launched for him. Shahin Akhundov is the son of the President of Sharur Isfandiyar Akhundov.
Akhundov was detained in Turkey on December 2006 by the Azerbaijani National Central Interpol Office. On 5 July 2007, he was sent to Azerbaijan.
