(celebrity-gossip.net) - For all of you Alicia Keys fans out there, November is a big month. Back on the 13th, she released her new album "As I Am" and this week she 's played at The Early Show and the WGA strike.
The "Falling" singer told interviewer Hannah Storm that the songs from her new album came from a newfound confidence. "There has been an overall feeling that I've come into my own. That's why I named this album: 'As I Am' because this is really who I am."
Keys said that her whirlwind world-traveling experience earlier this year helped her gain the perspective she needed to be more self-assured. "I saw all these temples, and tombs, and pyramids and I learned that we as people are really so powerful and it's all in our mind. We can really create and have anything that we want. That's what I learned and that's why I came back and made this music."
And Alicia is using her star power to leverage some support for charitable causes, including Keep a Child Alive, and AIDS charity. "I consider myself a child of the world. We need attention to have better school situations. We need attention even all the way in Africa with my organization."
