Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Huseynli / The Azerbaijani National Council on TV Broadcasting has concluded the monitoring of the ANS channel.
"Some violations were revealed as a result of the monitoring," the Council's chairman Nushirevan Maharramli said.
The Council reported on the results of monitoring of channels at the end of 2007. Recently the monitoring was held on ATV channel in which minor violations in ATV were discovered.
In 23 November 2006 the Council decided not to renew the ANS license. The broadcasting of ANS TV and ANS radio was terminated due to many violations and a tender was announced on ANC radio on 5 December. The Council allowed the broadcasting of ANS channel on 1 December. The Council issued a license for broadcasting of ANS after the recommendation of the Azerbaijani President and public.
ANS has fulfilled all the envisaged conditions except for some minor violations which consist of mainly technical and advertising issues. The additional information will be given after the meeting dedicated to the results of monitoring of channels on 4 December.
