International Labor Organization to Work with Azerbaijani Government in Fight Against Trafficking

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend K.Ramazanova / The International Labor Organization (ILO) will cooperate with the Azerbaijani Government to strengthen reforms in its fight against trafficking, Zsolt Dudas, an ILO representative in South Caucasus, said in talks with journalists on 11 December.

"Much is to be done in Azerbaijan," Dudas said. According to the ILO representative, a national action plan on fighting against trafficking has been compiled, although there are some practical milestones. The expert is also concerned with human trafficking in Azerbaijan, the use of people for the sale of their bodies or for cheap labour.

The ILO is also studying the activities of recruitment agencies to prevent people being employed without contracts, Dudas said
