Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / The investigation on the criminal case of the detained director of the Anti-terrorism and Corruption Centre, Rovshan Novruzoglu, has been finalised.
Novruzoglu was detained on the grounds of documents submitted by the Baku Executive Power to the Prosecutor General's Office.
The investigation was implemented by the Investigation Department on Heinous Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office.
Novruzoglu's lawyer Tofig Allahverdiyev stated to Trend agency that Novruzoglu is currently studying the materials. The case will be submitted to the Heinous Crime Court on 17 December.
Novruzoglu has been charged with contravening Article 320.1 (falsification of documents), Article 320.2 (use of false documents) and Article 310 (appropriation powers of officials) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code. Novruzoglu was imprisoned on the basis of documents submitted by the Executive Administration of Baku City to the Prosecutor General's Office of Nasimi District. Novruzoglu represented himself as the official of the Prosecutor Office and the Department against corruption at the Prosecutor General's Office. The Investigation Department on Grave Crimes at the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan is holding investigations into the case. The political scientist is imprisoned in the National Security Ministry.
