( dpa ) - The Berlin Film Festival rolled out Friday the last of the movies for next month's festival with films from South Korea, the US and Iran competing for the top honours next month.
The lineup includes the world premier of South Korean director Hong Sangsoo's Bam gua Nat (Night and Day). His critically acclaimed Woman on the Beach was shown during last year's Berlinale.
The Science of Sleep director Michel Gondry is returning to Berlin with the international premiere of Be Kind Rewind, starring Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow, Melonie Diaz. Be Kind Rewind will close the festival.
Also from the US will be the world premiere of Fireflies in the Garden by Dennis Lee, starring Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds, Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson.
The list of 26 movies includes in the Berlinale's main competition also includes the world premiere of Avaze Gonjeshk-ha (The Song of Sparrows) from Iranian director Majid Majidi. It stars Reza Najie, Maryam Akbari, Kamran Dehghan and Hossein Aghazi.
US director Lance Hammer is also to present his film Ballast in Berlin, which stars Micheal J. Smith, Jim Myron Ross, and Tarra Riggs.
Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Eric Bana star in The Other Boleyn Girl from Justin Chadmichj which is also to have its world premiere in Berlin next month.
The programme also includes the world premiere of Philippe Claudel's Il y a longtemps que je t'aime (I've Loved You So Long), starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Elsa Zylberstein, Serge Hazanavicius and Laurent Grevill.
Musta Jaa (Black Ice) a Finnish/German production from Petri Kotwica is also to have its international premiere in Berlin.
