Roma draw close, but Inter Milan may stretch lead in late game

( dpa ) - Second-place Roma beat Catania 2-0 Sunday to move within four points of Inter Milan ahead of a late game the Serie A leaders' play with lowly Parma.

Roma have 42 points from 19 games as the league reached its half-way mark.

Juventus trail on 37 after being held to a scoreless home draw by Sampdoria, and Fiorentina lie fourth on 34 having beaten Torino 2-1 Saturday.

AC Milan moved on to 24 points, with three games in hand, by snatching a late 1-0 win away to Udinese and lowly Siena also won away, stunning sixth-placed Palermo 3-2.

Lazio drew 2-2 at Napoli, Livorno edged Empoli 1-0, Reggina beat bottom side Cagliari 2-0, while Genoa beat Atalanta 2-1 Saturday. dpa ac bw
