Judge rejects Britney's visitation plea

( dpa ) - A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday denied a plea by Britney Spears for supervised visits with her children, allowing her ex-husband Kevin Federline to retain sole custody of the two toddlers.

In a repeat of last week's chaotic scene, Spears once again made it to the courthouse but failed to show up for the hearing despite LA Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon granting her attorney's request for a 30 minute delay, according to Access Hollywood.

Spears, 26, originally had joint custody of the boys Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, but her increasingly erratic behaviour led the court to give Federline custody in October with Spears allowed to see them three times a week in court-monitored visits.

Those visitation rights were suspended on January 4 after Spears refused to hand the children back to Federline and locked herself and Jayden in a bathroom prompting a three-hour standoff with police.

She was hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation for a day and failed to gain back any visitation rights last week when she did not make it into court for the hearing.
